| David, I got the whistle set today. Really really nice job. The C in particular has the best octave balance of any whistle I've played. The D upper octave is full without being shrill. I just spent over $100 for another maker's hi-D and yours is actually easier in the upper a & b. It also has a nice traditional tone which I like (my favorite cheap whistle is the original Clarke). So thumbs up from me on the whistle set and the service. Thanks again - Rob |
| Hi David Sorry for not coming back to you sooner. The flute is awesome I am very pleased. It's in tune! Easy to control and the hole dimensions enables me to use almost the entire chromatic scale. I'm actually very impressed and I'm getting curious?? Are you a plumber (good soldering) or are you a combined musician and handyman like me? Hope to hear from you soon. - Martin |
| Dear David, Your whistle has just arrived this morning, it took me by surprise however a pleasant surprise. I am very impressed with it, the tone and tuning are faultless it will fast become a favourite. I am a bit of a collector of whistles (I must have over 40) and tend to favour the conical bore however I have a Dixon and an Alba similar to the O'Brien that are amongst the most frequent I play; your whistle is their equal and its distinct tone will ensure it is well used and give me a great deal of future pleasure. Another weakness of mine is brass and copper, old bits and pieces, so I have given the whistle a good shine with non toxic materials, I hope you don't mind but it looks great. I was thinking it would look even better if it were silver plated (epns) , now I am getting carried away so I will quit while I still have a little credibility left.
