The Phantom is a Rover three piece whistle that is made of nothing but Delrin.  Whereas the slides on a regular Rover are made of brass, on a Phantom, they are Delrin.  It is my theory that two-material interfaces in a whistle, such as a brass slide connecting a wooden or Delrin whistle's parts, cut out some resonant frequencies.  I think a whistle made from just one material should have a purer tone and better volume.  I have only made a few, but so far, my theory seems to be confirmed.
The Phantom is available in a regular version, shown above in white Delrin and a Whispering Phantom, shown in black.  The Whispering version is intended for quiet practice, such as when you are staying in a hotel.  It has a very narrow airway and is up to ten times quieter than the regular version, as measured by a software sound level meter.  Click here for the sound of a regular Phantom, followed by a Whispering Phantom.
